  • 12th Ave crisis: A crisis situation was quickly resolved Wednesday afternoon after a man was reported throwing things off the roof of the former Roy Street Commons short-term rental building on 12th Ave. Police were called to the four-story building near 12th and Roy around 4:15 PM and attempted to communicate with the man who had also reportedly thrown a phone down from the rooftop. After about 20 minutes, the man reportedly came down from the roof and was transported to Harborview for evaluation and treatment. There were no reported injuries.
  • Broadway road rage shooting: Seattle Police are investigating after a backseat passenger fired a gun at a vehicle for driving too slowly in a road rage incident last Friday afternoon on Broadway. There were no reported injuries. According to the SPD report on the incident, gunfire was reported in the area of First Hill around 4:15 PM. Police report that a driver frustrated by another car’s slow speed pulled next to the vehicle and the backseat passenger fired a single shot into the slow moving car before speeding off. Nobody was hit by the shot. Police searched for the suspect vehicle but were not successful, SPD says.
  • Madrona gunfire: A suspect fired at a vehicle following him after early morning suspicious activities on 31st Ave, according to the SPD brief on the Tuesday, April 2nd incident. Police say the victim was in his car following the possible thief as he drove away just before 4 AM when the suspect “stopped his vehicle in the 800 block of 31 Ave and fired one round over his shoulder at the victim vehicle” then “took off at a high rate of speed.” Police say the victim was not injured, called 911 and returned to his residence. Police searched for the suspect vehicle but no arrests were reported.
  • Search for SUV driver: Police are searching for a suspect after a SUV was driven over encampment tents lining the sidewalk at 3rd and James Tuesday night. A witness called 911 after seeing the gray Acura SUV drive onto the sidewalk and over the tents around 11:30 PM. The SUV reportedly returned to the scene and someone fired shots from inside the vehicle about an hour later, the Seattle Times reports. There were no reported injuries. The attack is part of a string of violence targeting homeless people in Seattle including a similar set of incidents in February that included a car driving onto a 19th Ave E sidewalk on Capitol Hill and hitting a man camping outside a neighborhood business. Meanwhile, a First Hill resident has pleaded not guilty in the First Hill ax murder of a homeless camper. CHS reported here on the investigation after two murders and an assault that left a man in critical condition in Cal Anderson in area attacks that targeted homeless victims sleeping outside in February.
  • Burglary suspect arrest: Police recovered a firearm and took a wanted burglary warrant suspect into custody after a foot chase near 9th and Pike Thursday night. Police reported the arrest around 7:15 PM. The recovered firearm was reported as stolen, according to East Precinct radio updates.
